Agenda 2063 is built on seven aspirations that together describe "The Africa We Want", a shared vision adopted by all 55 African Union member states.

A Prosperous Africa based on inclusive growth and sustainable development

Shared prosperity, high living standards, transformed and diversified economies, and environmental sustainability for all Africans.

An Integrated Continent, politically united and based on the ideals of Pan-Africanism and the vision of Africa's Renaissance

A politically united continent connected by world-class infrastructure and functional continental financial and monetary institutions.

An Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law

Entrenched democratic values, capable institutions and transformative leadership at every level.

A Peaceful and Secure Africa

Mechanisms for peaceful resolution of conflicts and a fully operational African Peace and Security Architecture.

An Africa with a strong cultural identity, common heritage, shared values and ethics

A pan-African cultural renaissance celebrating Africa's history, heritage, languages, arts and shared values.

An Africa whose development is people-driven, relying on the potential of African people, especially its women and youth, and caring for children

Full gender equality and empowered, engaged youth and children driving the continent's development.

Africa speaking with one voice and financing its own development as an influential global actor.
